International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions
The IAAPA Expo is the world's largest amusement
industry trade show. People from all aspects of the amusement park industry
come together to buy, sell, and show off the latest in theme park innovations.
This year's Expo was located in the Georgia World Congress Center from 11/16-11/19. Thanks to a great friend I got free tickets this year. I spent almost a full 4 days there and still didn't see everything.
Day 1 - Wednesday 11/16/05

Wednesday was the first day of the Expo. I went alone, not sure if I was actually registered. I went Wednesday afternoon after classes. Luckily, I got in with no problem and also picked up a pass for my brother.

The Expo was spilt up in the two massive halls of the GWCC as well as outside. Before I made it down to the floor level, I got this glimpse from the window.

There were inflatables as far as the eye could see.

I entered in the inflatables section, but I quickly discovered that there was much more. It's a good thing that lady had an umbrella, it rains a lot inside the GWCC.

Evil clown licking people.

This is the Fear Factory. You get attached with a harness and then climb over ropes, narrow beams, and other deadly obstacles. It is terrifying.

Until you realize that you are only about 10 feet up.

One exhibitor had a ton of moving Halloween props. This guy was gigantic. He was very angry because someone stole his McGriddle sandwich.

This is the guy who stole the McGriddle. He didn't look like that before he ate it.

This was very impressive, he must have been 15 feet tall when he stood up.
I spent most of Wednesday wandering around so that on my remaining days I could act as a decent tour guide.

I managed to find this WPT Poker table. Nice but a bit too expensive. Ah who am I kidding, I bought all 10!
