Woodruff was supposed to be a big upgrade over Towers, my residence last school year. I'm not the type to really get excited about school housing, but my roommates seemed happy about it. The major difference here was the addition of a "private" bathroom. 4 people to a bathroom is not what I consider private, but it is a lot better then sharing with a hall of about 20 people. The trade-off, however, is that there is no housing staff to clean up for you.
Fall 05 went pretty well. My roommate, Brian, and I arranged a pretty decent set-up and we were able to fit just about everything in without problem.

When I came back from Christmas break, Brian did not. For a little while I had the whole room to myself. It was pretty nice, although we all missed Brian.

This is the view we had from our window. In the above illustration, the window would be located in front of the desk between the two beds. I would have rather had some trees or a road to look at, but at least we weren't looking out at dirt like we were in Towers.

My side extends to the middle of the Wendy's poster. During the time I was without a roommate I expanded my poster collection into the other side of the room.

As you can see from the picture of my side (left), I really dislike looking at those prison-style block walls.

We had some fun times. One day Mr. Six even came to visit!
Overall I was not as satisfied with Woodruff as I had hoped. I missed being right across from downtown. Woodruff also seems to need a lot of repairs. The elevator was in pretty bad shape all year and we had to call housing out to fix various problems in our rooms. There was a week that we had no air when it was very hot out. There were constant strange noises coming from above as well as a few other things that kept the year interesting.
Next year I will be in Hemphill, which is apartment style (individual rooms). Report coming in May 07.
